Rail Yard Run is a companion game to the book "Rail Tales: An Amtrak Adventure" available on Amazon in paperback or Kindle. It's the story of a 2 week adventure by train all around America. Find out more on at https://therailtales.com
Poor Hobo Harry needs to get across the rail yard, but there are so many trains! Unlike a cat, Harry only has 3 lives so he really doesn't want to get hit by a train and lose one of his lives. And there are a lot of tracks in groups of 10 with a road running in between every five tracks where he can pause and catch his breath.
As he gets further into the rail yard at each level some trains get longer and some trains get faster. Can you help Harry get all the way across the full 100 level of train tracks?
To move Harry, just use your arrow keys on a keyboard or swipe up//down/left/right on a touch screen. You can go backwards if you need to. You can stop and catch your breath on the roads, although occasionally a truck might drive down the roads too so look out!
You can turn off the sound at the very beginning of the game on the splash screen or you can turn the music and sound effects on or off individually on this screen (below). If you move focus to another window on your computer the trains and the sound will pause.
